Teachers commended for transforming Design & Technology education

We were delighted to read that our Design and Technology teachers, Miss Yalley and Mr Hadley were featured in the Design and Technology publication.  The article discusses the transformation of the Design & Technology (D&T) department at St. Clement Danes School over the past five years. It discusses how Mr Hadley and Miss Yalley took ownership of the subject, implementing a new subject ethos based on trust, excellence, respect, and safety to foster student responsibility and independence. Adopted industry models like the Double Diamond Design Process and Scrum-based project sprints to enhance student learning. Established workshops with industry professionals to inspire students, especially girls, to pursue design careers. Key Takeaways for Educators Adapt curriculum to student needs and school culture. Badminton Tournament 2025

The school recently hosted an exciting Badminton Tournament, which began on 29th November during lunchtime and concluded with the finals on 24th January. The tournament saw participation from over 50 students across multiple divisions, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere in the Sports Hall. The finals featured intense matchups across four divisions: Division 1: Aaryan V & Dara M vs. D U & Jaimin V Division 2: Evie B & Shiloh S vs. Aabis J & Tobi K Division 3: Hari R & Nishad M vs. Dylan Mc & Ben T Division 4: Japesh P & Sean Y vs. Alex B & Rithvik N Each final was played as a best-of-three games, with each game being played to 21 points. The atmosphere in the Sports Hall was electric as players showcased their skills and determination. A special thanks goes to Mr. Varsani & Mr. Taylor for organising and running such a fantastic competition. Their dedication helped make this event a great success, bringing together students in the spirit of sportsmanship and competition.
