Christmas Concert 2023

The Barbirolli Hall came alive with festive cheer as St Clement Danes School hosted its annual Christmas concert on Monday, December 18th. A showcase of talent unfolded, featuring captivating student solo performances and pre-concert carols by the Brass band.

The 2nd orchestra captured the audience with a heart-warming rendition of 'Walking in the Air,' setting a magical tone for the evening. A poignant reading of 'People' paid tribute to the late Benjamin Zephaniah.

The Wind band, String quintet and Jazz band each delivered exceptional performances, demonstrating the diverse musical talents within the school community. The gospel and junior choirs enchanted the audience with traditional carols.

As the concert concluded, the headteacher expressed gratitude for the outstanding contributions and dedication of the students and staff involved. Thank you to the Parents Association who served delightful festive refreshments.

A collection was conducted towards the Sixth Form nominated charities, highlighting the sense of community and celebration.

The Christmas concert not only showcased the musical prowess of the students but also reinforced the importance of unity and generosity during the holiday season.

The Director of Music, Mr Butterfield, commented "I was very pleased with the performances from every student, whether as part of an ensemble or as a solo. I am indebted to the other music staff that helped with the rehearsing and running of the concert to make it a successful evening."
