Gym and Dance Display 'Project:Diversity' 2022

Congratulations to nearly two hundred students who took part in the annual Gym and Dance Display, which was recorded in the Barbirolli Hall on Monday 21st February.

The students performed pieces including Trampette work, Floor gymnastics, Contemporary dance, Tap dance and Modern dance. This year we themed the show to highlight diversity within the world. We made a Â鶹ÊÓƵ to explore these elements by recognising, respecting and valuing difference. An example of a few areas explored are disability, LGBTQ+, Culture and Mental Health.

PE teacher and Gym and Dance Display Organiser Miss Tucker said: ‘The students have worked extremely hard in very difficult circumstances. We have had a number of restrictions in place which have made it challenging this year. However, without fail the students have worked tirelessly to ensure the routines were up to the same standards as usual. The passion and commitment to bring this project alive wouldn't have been possible without the curiosity and drive from the students involved'.

Miss Tucker extended thanks to helpers: Layla Ozcan, Yolanda Brett, Kaitlyn McHale, Jack Coleman, Lewis Patterson and Finn Bullen all of whom made an invaluable contribution towards the organisation and running of the event. The Lighting team, comprising of Carl Taylor and Thomas Kirby, were also praised for their help.

A huge thank you to Miss Tucker too, for her work in putting this event together and enthusing the students to produce such thoughtful and creative pieces.
