Charities Week 2021 Update
During December we held our annual Charities week for the first time in two years, fundraising to support local charities. The Charities Prefect Team did an exceptional job of ensuring all students in the school had the opportunity to have fun and contribute to fundraising efforts. Ably led by Jenson, many Year 13 students stepped up to become goalies for the football challenge, TikTok judges for our dancing KS3 students and business entrepreneurs in the selling of goodies and games on offer across the week. Staff did not miss the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in The Masked Singer and the Â鶹ÊÓƵ version of Squid Game's Red Light, Green Light or their resilience in participating in ‘Sponge the Teacher’! This year we raised an astonishing amount of money, £9009.35, for our very deserving charities whilst operating in Covid year group bubbles. This is a tremendous achievement and we are very grateful for the hard work, organisational skills and energy of all students and staff involved.
The Santa Fun Run also took place during December where students in Years 7, 8 & 9, were asked to come to school dressed in their PE kit and Christmas fancy dress. Students and teachers then participated in a fun run around the school fields whilst listening to Christmas music. Students raised an incredible £5298.37, which will go to Herts Young Homeless (HYH), a charity which supports young people and families who are homeless or may be at risk of homelessness.
