'White Noise' win Battle of the Bands

Congratulations to Year 8 Band 'White Noise’, who represented St Clement Danes School at the final of the Battle of the Bands, held at The Reach Free School yesterday evening. The school hosted the event in order to raise money for the Nordoff Robbins Charity, which is a specialist music charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK. (Please see link below for more details about Nordoff Robbins.)

Key Stage 3 students from five schools took part in the competition. Each band was given a ten minute slot to set up and perform their piece. A panel of three independent adjudicators judged the performances on the clarity, lyrical content, technicality and overall performance of each showpiece. The bands were also judged on their stage presence and crowd interaction, taking into account the level of crowd applause.

White Noise was established by students Gaetan Buisson and Daisy Rutter who were subsequently joined by their twins, Henry Rutter and Max Buisson. The talented students have been playing various instruments since they were at primary school, and look forward to participating in future competitions.

White Noise will be performing at the public viewing of students' art at the St Clement Danes School Art Show this evening, and also at the Summer Concert on Tuesday 5th July.
