Frantic Assembly Workshop held for Drama students

On Wednesday 21st November, twenty six students from Years 10, 11 and 12 attended a ‘Frantic Assembly’ workshop which was held in the Drama Hall. The exciting and contemporary company is world renowned and works with young people, teachers and artists. The students had a great experience working with the specialist practitioners, giving them an insight into how a professional company creates new material. 

This event was followed by another drama event today, when A level students held a pop up Performance Art in the new corridor area. One of the performances was based on 'Women's lack of voice in society' with female students’ mouths being symbolically taped up. This was designed to make audiences think about this subject.  Mrs Ingleby, Subject Leader of Drama, commented, 'the response from the school student community was fabulous! The students had lots of questions, and many of them got involved by adding make-up to the performers’ faces!’ As a consequence of this pop up performance, staff in the Learning Resources Centre have created a display with books pertaining to women’s rights and Year 10 drama students have just shaped their devised work in response to what they saw at the pop up performance.

Teachers commended for transforming Design & Technology education

We were delighted to read that our Design and Technology teachers, Miss Yalley and Mr Hadley were featured in the Design and Technology publication.  The article discusses the transformation of the Design & Technology (D&T) department at St. Clement Danes School over the past five years.
